How often do supplies need to be replaced?

Answer:
PAP machine filters and mask cushions should be replaced monthly, though some cushions (such as the AirTouch F20 full-face cushion) should be replaced every 2 weeks.  Mask frames and headgear should be replaced every 3-6 months.  Tubing should be replaced every 3-6 months.  Water chambers should be replaced every 6-12 months.

What is the best way to clean my PAP machine?

Answer:
Use a damp cloth to clean the exterior of the device, including the area where the water chamber attaches.  If water spots or mineral deposits are present, half-strength white vinegar will remove them.  There is no need to clean the inside of the machine.  Be sure to change the air filter monthly.  Sanitizing devices should NOT be used to clean a PAP machine, as the ozone they produce damage the plastic and rubber gaskets and harm the motor.

What is the best way to clean my mask and cushion?

Answer:
Remove skin oil, make-up, and other contamination using either a mild soap and water, or commercially available disposable wipes that are made specifically for that purpose.  Disposable wipes are available from Kramer on this website.  If you are concerned about bacteria, viruses, mold, or fungus, specialized sanitizing devices will be the best approach.  These are available from Kramer on this website.

Can I use my health insurance and/or health savings account to pay for my supplies?

Answer:

When can I get a new or replacement PAP device?

Answer:
Most insurance carriers will replace your PAP device every 3-5 years, more often if damaged or inoperative.  Contact a Kramer sales representative for information specific to your insurance policy.  Phone: 815-773-9028.  Please note:  A prescription from a licensed healthcare provider is required to obtain a PAP device.
